I purchased these in size 9 in the spring, along with the matching headband. I have worn them a lot this summer, and have received many compliments on how cute the are. They are great with jeans, jean capris, or a casual summer dress. The embroidery is pink, red and green, so they work great with any of those colors too. The upper are fabric inside and out, so will stretch slightly to fit your foot perfectly. For me this is a huge plus on the comfort side. Ladies with bunions... these are great! I love the slightly rough traditional rope espadrille foot-bed in the summer, as your feet never get sweaty or slip! I have slightly wider size 8.5 feet, so always buy a size 9 in Kate Spade for a comfortable fit. Yes, they are completely flat, but the cushy rope and the rubber sole make them quite comfortable. If you have a narrow foot, I would go down a 1/2 size, as the fabric will stretch a bit.
